Segmentation

If you try to please everybody, you end up pleasing nobody.

Customer segmentation is the process of grouping your customers by what actually distinguishes them, their needs, behaviours, value, or attitudes, rather than treating them as a single audience. Done well, it gives you a practical lens for making decisions: who to prioritise, what to say to them, which products or services to build, and where to focus investment. Done badly, it ends up as a slide that never leaves the strategy deck. We build models that are grounded in evidence and designed to be used.

You need this if:

You know, deep down, that your customers aren't all the same, but your strategy, your messaging, and your service model still treat them that way.

Segmentation is about making deliberate choices: which groups of customers matter most, what they actually need from you, and how to organise your business around serving them well. We'll help you cut through the noise, build a model that reflects reality, and turn it into something your teams can actually use.

What we do:

Week 0: Kick-off and information-gathering questionnaire

Week 1: Stakeholder engagement and review of existing data, systems, and any previous segmentation work

Week 2: Discovery workshops with key staff to surface hypotheses and business priorities

Weeks 3–5: Qualitative and/or quantitative research with customers to test and refine those hypotheses

Week 6: Analysis, segment definition, and persona development

Week 7: Workshop to pressure-test the model with stakeholders and agree how it will be used

Week 8: Final debrief and reporting

A segment isn't a slide. It's a decision your business is willing to make.
